Keeping a Blog
I've decided to keep a blog.
I already have this one plus three others but those blogs were more about being in on what other people are doing than really keeping a blog for myself.
I've kept a journal since I was 14 or 15 years old. It all started because I loved the book "Emily of New Moon" by Lucy Maud Montgomery.
A family member would bring home little black books for her and she would write about all sorts of things in her diary. She filled up loads of them with the people she met and the things that happened in her day. My diaries have been more like impressionist paintings of my mood and stream of consciousness expression of things I'd been suppressing... my little secrets. I've never had any desire to be on such a huge stage (the internet) spilling my guts about anything, so I wonder to myself often, why have a blog online? I don't really have much to write about apart from my impressionist painting stream of consciousness ramblings. I don't much want people I can't see and don't know looking at me so why?
I think I've finally answered my question tonight. I have a desire to express and this is a medium for expression so why not?! No one reads my blog anyway. I feel that if I can get my blog to a place where it really honestly expresses who and what and where and how I am at any given moment, then it will have value for me. Even now as I pull up this blog and read my past entries it ministers to my soul and makes me smile. That's reason enough. It has value to me. I'm a journal-er anyway and there's something about typing that's much faster than freehand and the way online blogs organize thoughts with tags and links and colorful text boxes, it's all so convenient. So here I am, jumping it with both feet. I'm gonna blog!
Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice.
